International conference, organised by the Hochschule der Künste Bern and the Conservatory of Milan “Giuseppe Verdi”, with the support of the Dipartimento di beni culturali e ambientali, State University of Milan.
The conference, with contributions in Italian and English, is the first entirely devoted to the figure of Francesco Pollini (Ljubljana 1762 – Milan 1846) and the Milanese musical milieu in which he was a prominent figure. Pollini played a fundamental role in the Lombard piano repertoire in the 19th century, but his other production (chamber, sacred, theatrical) will also be examined.
The conference is in two parts. The first has taken place online on 20/21 May 2021, both days 17:30–19:30. Among others, this online conference provided papers by Metoda Kokole, Luca Aversano, Carlida Steffan, Claudio Bacciagaluppi and Sara Andreacchio.
The second part of the conference will take place in hybrid form – in Milan, Conservatorio di musica “G. Verdi”, Sala Puccini, and online – on 24 September 2021, 9:30–16:30. It will include papers by (in alphabetical order) Bianca Maria Antolini, Stefano Aresi, Angela Buompastore, Leonardo Miucci, Elena Previdi, Guido Salvetti, Licia Sirch, and Claudio Toscani. The conference will be closed by a concert, starting 18:00, with Leonardo Miucci, the AleaEnsemble and music by Mozart and Beethoven.
